Faculty members of the School have substantial experience in hands-on management programmes in major Local Government organisations, including the Greater London Council.

They have also designed and delivered development programmes for the governments of Malawi, Botswana, Barbados, Abu Dhabi & Brunei, as well as major parts of the UK Civil Service and the National Health Service.

These experiences have been channelled into Action Learning programmes to enhance the performance of government departments, public sector and parastatal organisations and the entire Civil Service.

The School has devised a practical process, in which, starting with the Cabinet, a consistent and unified strategy and action plan are created, including defining critical success factors (CSFs) and how resources should be allocated to each ministry.

This strategy and plan of action is then cascaded down into each ministry and subsequently into the departments of each ministry. This cascading pyramid is the secret to improving organisational performance, and effectively links the activities and performance of the diverse areas of government.
