MSc, A 2-year, part-time programme consisting of 7 core
modules, 4 electives, group and individual projects, a personal development plan (PDP),
customised workshops and a dissertation.
7 CORE COURSES:
International accounting and finance
International HRM & organisational behaviour
Information systems & operations management
International business economics
International strategy
International marketing
Corporate social responsibility
ELECTIVES (choose 4 from the same list as the MBA):
The overall design of the MSc is similar to the MBA. That is, the core workshops are customised to the client’s business “situation” in face-to-face workshops and there will be an individual project and a PDP. Additionally, in year 1, individuals will be allocated into ACTION LEARNING SETS and they will choose business critical problems to solve in addition to sharing their learning experiences. These problems are likely to be part of the strategy definition and implementation process. The work of these group project teams will involve:
Solving
key business problems and learning from the analysis and
implementation process.
Learning about group dynamics, how high performing teams
are created and how effective participants are in
chairing and participating in meetings.
The results of these group projects will be presented to senior managers at the end of year 1 in a short workshop where research methods will also be taught and the MSc dissertation introduced.
As in the MBA the focus in year 2 will be on using the IMPLEMENTATION SKILLS developed in year 1 to improve the performance of the part of the business controlled by the “student”. The PDP will continue and further learning will be achieved from the electives. The group project teams will continue to meet to share experiences and to help each other become effective LEADERS.
