The School’s approach to accrediting its programme is three fold:

Working with ICOM we have created a part-time Commonwealth Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) in collaboration with Anglia Ruskin University, which will be done "In-Country" by 20 participants. The aim will be to research the key issues involved in the socio-economic development of the nation. This is based on the DBA delivered by members of the School's faculty in the Caribbean.

We have created an MSc Professional Engineering that leads to Chartered Engineer status with University of Hertfordshire.  This part-time programme uses our Action Learning approach to reinforce the professional development period required to become a Chartered Engineer.  We believe strengthening the engineering capability of organisations in emerging markets is critical to their development.

We have created Commonwealth Masters Programmes in International Business.  These generic MBA and MSc programmes are based on the Royal Holloway University of London masters programmes.  The School will customise these programmes to the needs of its clients, in particular countries, by putting an Action Learning envelope around the basic programmes as described below.  That is, we are offering masters programmes to middle and senior managers, which focus on understanding global trade and investment issues and applying the learning to improve the performance of organisations in the private and public sectors of particular countries in the Commonwealth and wider afield.  The approach is based on the 11 “in-company”, Action Learning masters programmes the faculty of CBS have delivered in organisations such as Shell, National Power, Cummins, Singapore Telecom and Almond Resorts in Barbados.

Many of the School’s programmes have been delivered to managers at senior and middle levels, in all sectors of national economies.  In these programmes the prime objective has been to improve the managerial and leadership performance of participants and of their organisations.  Where clients have requested an “academic” qualification this has been provided in the form of Certificates or Diploma in Management customised to the client’s “industry” (e.g. Diploma in Port Management).  Faculty of the School have designed and delivered programmes in the following sectors:

Telecoms, electricity, ports, water, construction, hospitality, tourism, oil, ship-building, aerospace, mechanical engineering, retailing, health-care, police, civil services, local government and procurement/supply chain management.  Many of these programmes have been accredited by the Universities of Oxford (UODLE), Cambridge (UCLES), London and Bradford.  Programmes in banking, waste and airport management are also being offered.
